Something is killing natives in a remote stretch of the Amazon River rainforest. The Brazilian government hires renowned oceanographer Jack Brendan to investigate, and he embarks on a cruise aboard a high-tech state-of-the-art research vessel. His crewmates include a suave two-faced Brazilian Army officer, a close-minded policeman, an arrogant U.S. Army officer, an irritating nurse and two co-partner scuba divers, one an attractive female and the other an egocentric Brazilian.

The savage wounds inflicted on the victims convince Brendan that a malevolent presence exists in the water, a mutant creature, a freak, a giant offshoot caused by toxic poisoning, of what had been in the past a much smaller animal.

When the boat becomes stranded in one of the world’s most hostile, forbidding, inaccessible regions… it’s a fight for survival.

A sequel to the first Infested Waters book, Book 2 Vampire Fish is a story of underwater scuba horror, deforestation, arrogance, greed, pollution and man’s indifference to the environment.
